The First Transportation and Logistics Center Seminar Held at UW-Superior

August 28, 2000, marked the first of what will be many transportation related seminars presented by The University of Wisconsin-Superior's Transportation and Logistics Center. The featured presenter was Mr. James Foote, a 1976 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Superior and Senior Vice-President for Sales and Marketing, Canadian National Railway (CN) whose topic was 'Continental Railroading in a Global Marketplace." Mr. Foote was appointed to his present position in April 1999. He is responsible for the strategic leadership and direction of CN's sales and marketing group. He was appointed Vice-President, Merchandise, at CN in 1996 after joining CN as Vice President, Investor Relations, in 1995.

He was formerly Vice-President, Corporate Development, Investor Relations and Tax with the Chicago and North Western Railroad, where he held successively senior management positions in finance, law, labor relations, corporate communications, and operations. He has over 24 years of railroad experience in the areas of finance, law, labor relations, corporate communications, and operations. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Superior, the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, and has completed all course work in the Masters degree program at the Kent College of Law in Chicago.
