Introduction

My E-Hive is a web enabled student administration system portal.  A portal is a web system that provides content specific to a user.  The primary purpose of My E-Hive is to provide students the ability to manage their personal academic and administrative records. For example student can view their transcripts, register for classes, change their mailing address, and view and pay their bill.

In addition to administrative records, the portal provides access to other campus computing systems like e-mail and online learning, along with access to campus community information such as campus news & events.

This document will primarily focus on the transactions and functionality associated with managing your academic and administrative records. Topics covered in this document will include:

  • System Requirements and Software Issues– includes some of the issues associated with the software design and a link to the suggested operating/browser, and a section on Tips & Traps; issues you need to be aware of as use the portal.

  • Portal Login, Navigation and Customizing – Login and password information, general navigation instructions and instructions for customizing your portal.

  • 5 “Managing My Records” Sections – Includes Enrollment , Academic Record,  Finances, Utilities, and  Course Catalog and Schedule

Software Issues/System Requirements

Here is a brief summary of known issues with the software and a list of acceptable browsers

-G: Drive access doesn’t work well on dialup service – G:Drive access through the portal is only recommended for users on a high speed connections.  Dial up users will experience very poor performance.

-Passwords are case sensitive – Passwords are case sensitive so when changing your password pay attention to the case and remember that passwords must be at least 7 characters long and should be changed at least once each semester.

-Print any page but sometimes… – You may have to manually change to landscape orientation or is some cases alter the page margins in order to have all the data on the page printed properly.

-Pop-Ups - Some links will attempt to bring up the content is a new browser window.  This is known as a “Pop-up” window.  Many browsers include popup blocking features (sometimes more than one) which prevent the information from coming up.   You may have to train your browser to allow pop-ups when using My E-Hive.

- Recommended Systems and Browsers –The current list of approved operating systems and supported browsers can be found at http://www2.uwsuper.edu/infotech/ais/browsers.htm Use of browsers or operating systems not listed can cause unexpected results.

-Check back to this page- We will be updating this page as new issues are discovered or existing issues are resolved.  Problems can also be reported by emailing us at ehive@uwsuper.edu
