My E-Hive is a web enabled student administration system
portal. A portal is a web system that
provides content specific to a user. The
primary purpose of My E-Hive is to provide faculty and advisors the ability to
manage their administrative and some personal records. For example faculty can
access their teaching schedule, class rosters (including student photos), including
student can view their transcripts, register for classes, change their
mailing address, and view and pay their bill.
In addition to administrative records, the portal provides
access to other campus computing systems like e-mail and online learning, along
with access to campus community information such as campus news & events.
This document will primarily focus on the transactions and
functionality associated with managing your academic and administrative
records. Topics covered in this document will include:

The purpose of the following pages is to provide
instructions for using the E-Hive system.
In addition to this document each page in the E-Hive has associated help
page link. In this document we will cover:
Here is a brief summary of the tips & traps of the new
E-Hive interface. If you are a new user
to the system, this may be of interest to you too. Overall the new interface is much more
intuitive than the previous system, but here are few tips and traps to keep in
mind:
-User Id (formerly Login ID) and Passwords are now case
sensitive – When we converted to the new system all user-id were converted
to upper case characters and all passwords were converted to lower case
characters. When you change your
password you must remember that case matters!
Some of the same rules apply for selecting passwords. We strongly
suggest you look at the password section
of this page for more information.
-Password Clues from old system did not transfer to the
new system – Password clues in the old system did not convert in the
new system. We have not set up the password reminding functionality at this
time.
-Degree Progress Reports not available until
-Old Browsers will provide you headaches – If you
have an older computer and older versions of browser software you should
upgrade. Ideally you should use Internet
Explorer version 5.0 or higher, but any browser that supports Java and Java
script will work including Netscape, and IE for the MAC. If you have any questions contact the
Technology Helpdesk.
-Your browsers BACK button will just frustrate the heck
out of you – The BACK button on any browser you choose often does
not bring you back to the previous page.
This is a security issue. If you
attempt to use the back button, you often get the following error:
Clicking the refresh button (this is typically found on
the icon bar of your browser) will bring you back to the menu but you end up
loosing what it was that you were working on.
This issue has been brought to the attention of the vendor by several
schools so we look for a fix reasonably soon.
To navigate back or to another place the page you are looking at has a
“return to” or other link found in the
body of the page. On some pages you must
scroll your browser down to see the link.
You may also navigate using the “Bread Crumb” links that show the menu
navigation you followed to reach a desired page. Here I an example of the bread crumb links to
the grades page.

-Print any page but sometimes… – You may
have to manually change to landscape orientation to see all the data on the
page.
-Processing, Processing, Processing – Depending
on the browser you are using or on the amount of traffic on the system you may
get to a page that flashes Processing in
the upper right hand corner of your page.
Processing should only take a few seconds to complete. If the page seems stuck on Processing click your browsers stop button and try
the action again.

-Ignore references to wait listing – When
managing your class schedule ignore references to waitlist functionality. None
of the departments are using the automatic wait listing functionality at this
time.
- Class Schedule Grid is no longer available - The old system delivered a grid
showing your classes. This was not
delivered in the new system but an enhancement request has been made to include
this tool in future upgrades.
Check back to this page- We will be updating this
page as we stumble on more of these issues.

You will log into the E-Hive through a link on the UW-Superior home page. The login page will require a User ID and Password. User Id’s are to be entered in upper case characters only and passwords are case sensitive. For more information on passwords see the “Password information -- Changing Passwords” later in this document.
To log into the E-Hive:
1. Click the E-Hive at the bottom of the UW-Superior home page.
2. Enter your User Id and Password
Once you login to the system, you will be taken to the
Learning management Home Page:

The learning management home page provides links in 4 categories:

Note: If your class is not listed it may be because
your program assistant has not listed you as the primary or secondary
