I. Background and
Purpose
As part of its duties related to the UW-Superior website, the University Relations Office maintains an online list of student organizations recognized by the university. University Relations will link a student organization's name on the list to its website if requested. This policy sets forth guidelines and rules for deciding which recognized student organization web pages can be linked to this listing and when those links may be discontinued.

III. Definitions
1) Recognized Student Organization: A student organization that is identified by the UW-Superior Student Development Office as a "recognized student organization."
IV. Policy Statements
4.1 The University of
4.2 Recognized student organizations may request that their listing on the university website be linked to their organization's website.
4.3 A request to link a recognized student organization website to the list on the university website will be made by a current officer of the organization to the University Relations Office at relations@uwsuper.edu
4.4 Academic departments and university offices may include links on their websites to student organization websites. This includes, but is not limited to, links to student clubs and study groups. This policy in no way interferes with the academic freedom of any individual or university program or department.
4.5 A student organization website must be located on a University computer server. No links will be made directly to organization websites that are not located on a university computer server.
4.6 Student organization websites will be reviewed by the University Relations Office each fall. Those that have not been updated within the past year will be notified through the Student Development Office that their site will no longer be linked to the university website. Student organization websites can be linked again once they are updated.
4.7 Student organization websites must adhere to all university polices regarding student conduct and use of technology. Any organization website that violates these policies will have its link removed from the university website.
V. Policy Procedures
5.1 The University Relations Office is responsible for
maintaining the online list of recognized student organizations and links to
their websites in cooperation with the Student Development Office.
VI. Compliance
6.1 The University Relations Office will examine recognized
student organization websites before they are linked to the University website
to ensure they comply with university polices regarding student conduct and use
of technology.

6.2 The University Relations Office and the Student Development Office will periodically examine recognized student organization websites once they are linked to the University website to ensure they comply with university polices regarding student conduct and use of technology.
6.3 Any student organization that is removed from the university's list of recognized student organizations will have its name and link removed from the university website
6.4 A student organization's website link can be removed from the University website at any time the University Relations Office, Student Development Office or Office of Network and Programming Services deems that the organization has failed to meet the requirements set forth in this policy or other university polices regarding student conduct and use of technology.
6.5 A student organization which has it website removed from the University website will be notified of the removal through the organization's chief officer as listed with the Student Development Office. The link can be restored once the website is brought into compliance with this policy and other relevant University policies.
