Ph.D. in German from the Ohio State University MA in Spanish from West Virginia University Currently, I am an Associate Professor in both the Spanish Program and the German Program at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. I have completed extensive post-graduate work in Spanish at the Ohio State University, after my original MA in Spanish from WVU. In addition, I have studied Spanish language and culture at various institutes in Costa Rica over a period of several years. These study abroad sessions also included several different home-stays and immersion experiences, thus allowing me to experience Central-American culture firsthand. Furthermore, I studied and worked for several years in Europe, during which time I was able to gain firsthand experience of the Spanish nation and its very extraordinary culture. Some of the specific academic areas that I have concentrated on during my studies in Costa Rica include: the canon of Literatura Costarricense, as well various aspects of Central-American culture, such as La Mujer Latinoamericana, La Naturaleza, La Niñez en Centroamérica, and other Aspectos Sociales.
