Ph.D. in German from the Ohio State University Currently, I am an Associate Professor in both the German Program and the Spanish Program at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. I spent six semesters studying abroad at the University of Cologne in Germany. Furthermore, I taught English fulltime for three years at German high schools (Gymnasien), and later worked for an engineering firm in Cologne, Germany, as well as for a publishing firm in Aachen, Germany. I have published articles on the seventeenth-century author Grimmelshausen,
the language of Martin Luther, Women in Germany, African-German poetry
and Gastarbeiterliteratur. My last publication was on the present
situation of the Turkish minority in Germany. I have also had pedagogical
teaching ideas and classroom strategies published by the American Association
of Teachers of German.
