The Center provides Native American communities access to higher education acting as the bridge between local reservations and the university in an attempt to serve those communities' educational needs.

The Center has been instrumental in agreements such as the articulation agreement with the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwa Community College.  This agreement allows transfer of Associates degree to the University of Wisconsin Superior and 2 + 2 programs in the areas of social work and education.

The Center also provides training and work-shops for people in cultural awareness and the staff is also involved in numerous speaking engagements throughout the region.
