The Act 31 Coalition Mission Statement

In an effort to assist teachers in implementing Act 31 (Wisconsin State Law requiring public schools to teach Native American History, culture, and treaty rights), the First Nations Studies Center at the University of Wisconsin-Superior has assembled a working group of individuals and instructions across the state that want to provide resources and training for educators trying to improve their delivery of Act 31.  The working group is called the Act 31 Coalition and will provide this information through the First Nations web site.

To provide the resources that educators need and want we need to asses what is being done in the public schools to implement Act 31 and what we could provide as far as resources and training to increase your effectiveness.  We would also like your opinion on the viability of delivering this material throughout your entire curriculum and learning environment.  If you could take the time to complete a short survey, it would help us to establish a program of offerings that would fit your educational needs.  Which in turn you could access through this web site.  This survey can be accessed on-line Act 31 Coalition Survey or can be sent to us.
