Criteria for Selecting Proctors
when Taking Exams at a Distance
The criteria for designating proctors include:
A librarian in an administrative position (Director/assistant director, head librarian)
A school administrator or other school official in a supervisory position
A faculty member (WTC, UW-System, other college or university)
An educational counselor (K-12, WTC System, or equivalent system, UW-System)
Testing Center or Student Services Office at a college or university
Important: Proctors cannot be related to you or be a personal friend.
The Proctor Approval Form can be accessed online, completed, printed, and mailed or faxed to the Distance Learning Center. The completed form must be returned to the Distance Learning Center for approval before exams will be sent.
Procedures for ordering exams
Several options are available to you for ordering exams. Ordering may be completed:

You are required to supply the following information when ordering an exam:
The exam will be sent directly to your proctor. You arrange a time to take the exam that is convenient for the proctor. When completed, the proctor must return the exam to the instructor in a pre-paid, self-addressed envelope.
Testing for local students
Local students will take exams, by appointment, in the Distance Learning Center. Appointments must be made at least 24 hours prior to the exam time. If appropriate, you must check to make sure the instructor has sent the exam to the Distance Learning Center. Call (715) 394-8487 to schedule an appointment.
