To prepare for Summer College 2007:   Titles and prices of all texts are found on the University Bookstore website.  Click on "Just Looking".  Select the term: Distance Learning.  Be sure to order text(s) ahead of time, preferably before the end of December.  Courses will be available for viewing one week prior to the start of the class. Note:  Start/End dates differ for summer courses.  Students will have the opportunity to perform a system check to optimize their machine for D2L and to review the tutorials and tech support information provided for them prior to the start of classes.  If students are enrolled in print courses, this opportunity gives them adequate time to download their course manuals and review them before the start of class. 
 


BUS 370, PRINCIPLES OF MARKETING (3 cr)
Print-based (P) Course
Course description:
  How has marketing changed the world, brought down the Berlin Wall and made the Walton Family Billionaires?  These and other questions will be explored as well as the amazing impact of E-commerce.  A study of the principles involved in the marketing of goods and services.  Included are analyses of markets, determination of market needs, and decisions involving the components of the marketing mix: product, price, promotion, and physical distribution.


BUS 371, CONSUMER BEHAVIOR (3 cr)
Print-based (P) Course
Course description: 
Basic tenets of the disciplines of psychology, sociology, anthropology, & economics that affect decisions of individuals.  Current literature in the area is explored in its relation to underlying theory.  The strategic implications of consumer behavior are integrated with concept.  The use of vignettes to underline & understand the consumers role in the marketing process.  If you have bought a product and have later asked “What was I thinking?”, this course is for you.
