The Ed.S. in Post Secondary Disabilities Services Administration (PSDSA) is the first and currently only post-graduate degree in the United States specifically tailored for the professional who desires to provide administrative leadership for a college or university disabled student services program. PSDSA graduates will be capable of organizing and administrating special assistance and appropriate services to assure equal access to postsecondary education for disabled students.
The purpose of this post-graduate degree is not to provide one with professional certification (as none exists). Other programs at the university offer professional certification in disability-related fields. The purpose of this degree is to give one the intellectual and methodological tools to enable you to play a leadership role in disability research, policy, and practice in higher education.Although the degree is not designed to prepare graduate students to perform clinical roles in education, rehabilitation, and related fields, students are strongly encouraged to acquire at least general knowledge of one or more areas of clinical or instructional practice. The Special Education, Counselor Education and School Psychology masters degrees offer courses and programs for specific service delivery of services to disabled individuals.
This mission of the PSDSA is accomplished through graduate student mastery of an advanced knowlege base for the degree program that focuses upon:
